"Merlot"
She herself picked out her name while attending a dinner party
at a friends home.
"Merlot" is named after, of course, a wine. 'Ecco Domani' is a vineyard/winemaker located in the Venezie Region of Northeast Italy.  The name 'Ecco Domani' translates to "Here's Tomorrow".
As any wine connoisseur knows,
a fine wine grows better with age!
